Impact
Testing Machine
The Hye Precision
impact testing machine Model IT1 can perform several different tests to
measure golf ball performance and durability. the Machine can be equipped
to measure initial velocity, coefficient of restitution, as well as, durability
for construction, paint, and logo. The machine has a direct coupled flywheel
with encoder feed back to allow precise control over the striking velocity.
The balls to be tested are loaded onto the tee manually or automatically.
After the operator initiates a testing cycle the tee moves into position
and extends the ball into the path of the striker. The ball then travels
at high velocity before being decelerated by flexible belting. After each
impact, the balls can be automatically tested for deformation or cracking.
Defected balls are automatically unloaded and the test will continue.
In automatic mode,
balls can be loaded into a hopper and fed automatically to the loading
tee. Automatic mode is useful when striking orientation is not critical
and or the number of balls to be tested is great.

In
manual mode, each ball to be tested is manually loaded onto the loading
tee. A laser pointer is then activated to allow precise alignment of the
ball prior to striking. Manual mode will allow for a precise repeated impact
on a logo or other specific location on the golf ball surface. |

All
testing parameters and results are stored into the machine's memory and
can be retrieved during the test or upon completion of the test by downloading
to a personal computer for spread sheet analysis. |
